Does faith help you or not?

I dont have a faith ie religion but i have faith that people are inherently kind and loving (in general) would describe myself as spiritual not religious.
My wife was a Christian and a kind soul, she took comfort from her faith and she was visibly comforted by the chaplain who visited her daily in her final days, so it gave me some comfort knowing she was comforted by her faith.
I have been to a church which my neighbours go . They had a band and I was singing songs I didn’t know . I do believe it helped me a bit
