My mum died suddenly 5 weeks ago and it was me that found her. For the last 3 weeks I have had awful anxiety and panic attacks. I can’t sleep past 4.30am and I am exhausted . My thoughts are racing and I feel completely spaced out with brain fog and uninterested in anything. To make things worse, I’m now feeling anxious about how I’m feeling. I just want tio reassurance that this is normal
Deawr @PSmith am so sorry for your loss! yes, anxiety and panic attacks can be part of grieving and the most horrible part of the day for many of us are the early hours of the morning. If it is making you too miserable, go see your GP who might give you something, like propanolol, to help with some of that morning anxiety. Wishing you all the best and sending you a big hug
Hi PSmith, my mum also died suddenly at home, I found her and I feel exactly the same. Waking up early in the morning is typical for emotionally difficult situations. The only thing is I don’t feel anxious about how I feel, I don’t care about my life anymore because of what has happened…
Thank you! I’m just so anxious about feeling anxious! It’s the weird spaced out feeling that scares me the most. I just want to be me again ![]()
@PSmith You will, but it will take time. The only way out is through. So sorry for your loss ![]()
