Feeling alone and isolated

I lost my dad almost three years ago and I am stills struggling so so much. It’s like a hole was left. I’ve never felt this lonely, and I’m unsure if it’s normal. I don’t know what to do, I can hardly leave my house. I feel forgotten, I had so many friends but can’t keep the connections going. How do you move forward?

Hi Newlove

I’m sorry you lost your dad, you were obviously very close. Losing a parent is hard and takes time to heal. Have you considered councelling? If you speak to your GP I’m sure they would refer you to someone who could help you talk through your loss.

As for friends, it seems this happens to most of us. People find out sadness hard to deal with. I’ve lost friends I’ve had since childhood. What I have found is some people need a way back in and I’m afraid it’s up to us to make the first move. Just a message, hi I’ve not heard from you for a while how are you?

I hope you continue to post, there are some amazing people here who I am sure will be along to offer their support x

Hi rosea62

I’m so sorry you lost your mum, it’s not surprising your feeling sad all the time,have you gone to your gp they may be able to help or maybe get some counselling. I lost my husband 2 months ago and I am seeing a counsellor on Friday because I am really struggling on my own, so I am trying anything that can help. We never get over there loss but can only try to live with it

Sending you hugs

Jean :hugs::hugs::hugs::heart:
