Feeling numb and complete disbelief

Really don’t know where to start.

Lost my Nana on 13/10/2025 and have been completely numb ever since. Like no other feelings just numb.

Then on 05/03/2026 we suddenly and unexpectedly lost my grandpa. I’ve never dealt with anything like this before. It’s like I’m completely dissociated and in shock. I know it’s still raw but I’ve never dealt with loss like this and don’t know what to think or do.

I’m going through the exact same feelings of numbness, lost both parents and about to lose a partner. I still haven’t even cried much, just sustained in a frozen state.

I think it’s natural to go into a numb state as its your brain’s way of protecting yourself from getting too overwhelmed, and a way of preserving your energies so you can focus on the day-to-day tasks, the important practicalities. It doesn’t mean you don’t care about the person you’ve lost, its a means of surviving and keeping your mind intact whilst you go through the process of it all
