First visit to a medium

I saw a medium today, it’s something I’ve always felt the urge to do .
But now I feel I have more questions than answers.
A lot of what she said was right , some was wrong but also some of it could be right if I really wanted it to be but feel like I’m trying to make things in my life fit what she said if that makes sense.
She was adamant I have two boys ( I don’t ) she was adamant my sister has two boys ( she doesn’t ) but I do have two grandsons
She told me that one of my children needs more confidence ( they don’t ) but one of my grandsons does - do things like that get a bit confused in readings ?
I feel like a lot of what she said could be relevant to someone in my position but other bits were spot on
Is it normal to get a lot of the reading wrong, do they see spirits clearly like we would see real people clearly ?
So much of what she said could be true just the bits that weren’t have put me off and made me have doubts .

Mediums use a technique called cold reading. Some are good at it while very few are extremely skilled. Please don’t fall prey to them. I’m sorry for your loss.

Well I wouldn’t take it seriously personally but a lot of people do.
Sounds like you are right.

I saw one recently. Booked an online video call using a false name so she couldn’t do any research on me and didn’t tell her why I wanted the reading. She was spot on in some things. Told me things about my mother that nobody could have known or guessed and then some things about my love that were also extremely accurate. There were a few things that made no sense to me, but I recorded the session, so will go back to listen at a later date and see if they do then.
Not all are charlatans and they do help a lot of people find some peace. My advice would be to do as I did and give them no information about yourself at all. Don’t use any contact details that they could look you up with, and don’t tell them who you are trying to contact.

I’m glad you posted Dublingirl, I was going to say about your visit to the medium but would have had to look it up on the Psychic Phenomena thread first so you’ve saved me the search. Have you seen your woman again or anyone else?

Lost19 I have an open mind on mediums and psychics although I’ve always found the subject fascinating. I won a psychic reading voucher in a raffle a few months ago and I really want to use it but I’m putting it off because I don’t know how I’ll cope with the disappointment if nothing meaningful is said. I know an awful lot of people say very general stuff that could really apply to almost anyone. You might find the Psychic Phenomena thread interesting although it started a few years ago so there are hundreds of posts.

I have had several very successful readings 3 by phone and one on zoom. The medium said she has messages/signs and they came as a charade, the medium then has to translate them and tell you.It is quite probable that there was a confusion, but a good medium usually translate evidence to you. Hope that helps x

The clairvoyant said my dad liked a joke which he did.
When the reading was over she said if you want to hear from your Dad ask for a calling card - things like white feathers are calling cards and she said 2p’s but I thought she meant 2 peas
I asked my Dad to send me a calling card yesterday to show it was him coming through.
New things came into work yesterday one of them was a soft peas in a pod toy but there were 3 peas . A team leader picked it up and one pea wasn’t attached properly and fell out leaving 2 peas …

@Princess57 No, I haven’t seen anyone else since, but I will. I also ask for signs and 9 times out of ten get them. One made me laugh the other night. ‘Our song’ was Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty. I’d asked for a sign that day and I was watching an old episode of Mock the Week when Dara O’Brien started mucking about with a huge marrow, pretending it was a saxophone and ‘playing’ Baker Street on it  Well, that is just the sort of thing that my love would have done. It really cheered me up and made me smile! Of course it could be a coincidence, but it made my day

@Lost19 I did take it as a sign! I hear that song occasionally in random places that mean something to us, a bar, or a hotel, or on the radio when I’m feeling particulary sad, so that made me laugh. Me and him would definitely have laughed about it! Our special song - on a marrow
I miss the laughs so much. The shared jokes, the silly texts and conversations. So that, to me, was a little gift!

Do you think my peas are a sign as well albeit an odd one lol
I’m glad you got comfort from your sign x

OMG, yes! I’d totally take that as a sign - it is too specific - or 2 peasific…

Ha ha ha
I also remembered last night that when the medium said 2p’s and i said oh i thought you meant 2 peas i gestured two circles with my thumb and fingers on both hands with a space in the middle . The pea that fell out of the toy was the middle one…
I had doubts about my reading but the more i think about it and find out how mediums work the more i’m believing it.
The peas have definitely freaked me out lol
