Grief isn’t just sadness. It’s a little bit of everything.
It’s the waking up and remembering that they are really gone and it hits you all over again.
It’s the smiling in front of people and the breaking down the second you’re alone.
It’s the wishing the world would stop because yours did and somehow we think that would make us better.
Grief shows up everywhere; in a smell, in a song, in the voices of strangers that sound like them.
This journey can be so lonely even when you’re surrounded by so many people who care because at the end of that day it’s your person, it’s your loss, it’s your grief to carry.
You wake up every day and you keep going, not because the missing them goes away it’s because remembering them with love is so much stronger.
They say grief is the price of love and when the love runs this deep so does the grief.

Hi, I agree with you grief is so much more than just sadness. I’m even missing who I was before the loss. Do you ever feel that? Have you completely changed? I know you can wish to go back in time but I wish you could.
