Grief

Things grieving people do that we don’t talk about.
We re-read old text messages just to feel close to them again.
We scroll back old photos just to see their face again.
We say their names out loud so it doesn’t feel like its disappearing.
We replay the last conversation over and over.
We talk to them even if no one understands why.
We imagine what they would say about what’s happening in our life now.
We keep something of theirs that we’ll never throw away.
If you do any of these, you’re not strange. You’re grieving someone you love.
You are not alone here.
