Grieving

The worst part of grief isn’t losing them once it’s waking up and losing them again.
Every morning there’s a moment, a tiny moment, where your brain forgets and then reality comes back.
They’re still gone and your heart has to learn that truth all over again because grief doesn’t stay in the past it follows you into today, into your mornings, into your routines, into the life you’re trying to rebuild.
People think grief gets easier because time passes, but time doesn’t stop you from missing someone.
Time doesn’t stop you from wishing you could call them,
Time does not stop your heart looking for someone who isn’t coming back.
And that’s the part nobody talks about.
You don’t just grieve the person, you grieve every future moment they were supposed to be in.
The phone calls, the holidays, the ordinary Tuesdays, the good news, the bad days. Because love doesn’t end when a life does. That’s why grief keeps showing up.
So if you’ve ever felt like you’re losing them over and over again you’re not broken, you’re grieving.
