Today has been a dreadful day. Went down garden this morning to find a heron has had about 40 of my fish found one in the flower bed flapping about got him back in pond seems ok. He was a big one so i expect heron couldnt lift him. Im devastated they were jims pride and joy and now i feel im let him down for not looking after them . I know there only fish but i used to sit watching them and talk to them . Now im in bed with a bad back after spending most of the afternoon bent over pond trying to find what’s left. Bloody heron . Think my dog saved the day she saw it all and was barking i let her out thinking she wanted a wee but she showed me the one in the flower bed other wise that one too would have died.
Oh bless you, that’s the last thing you needed. Am thinking of you. Please don’t blame yourself, you really can’t control the heron but it must have been so upsetting. Please don’t beat yourself up too much x
Hi @Misprint , that’s what happened to our fish too. It is upsetting. Tried all sorts of things over time to stop the heron but he always gets the better of me. I’m seriously thinking about dismantling the pond, our children say their dad would understand but I feel I letting him down. Still haven’t made up my mind what to do.
Put some netting over it now but didnt have quite enough so going to get some more tomorrow seems a bit late now but still a few left mum said to fill it in and not bother with it anymore
Not an easy decision to make, I keep asking Doug for a sign of what I should do.
Very disheartening when something happens like this
My backs really painful can hardly move .
Have you taken painkillers or got some muscle rub.
Yes both mate be ok tomorrow
How’s your back today
Ok today thks
Aw you poor thing ! Ive had a rubbish day today too ! Tactless , heartless people ! You know i think i would like to go live on an island where there arent any people ! Would suit me fine that would … x
Had kgh complaints department ring today to discuss my complaint app couldnt talk today as was in brothers house so calling back Thursday afternoon to discuss everything that went wrong so seems like im not getting my face to face app with them im very disappointed in that. Dont know how i feel about doing it over phone its not the same but i suppose there to busy
@Misprint You can always insist you want a face to face appointment. I would say to any complaints department if they told me they are too busy, that this is surely a sign that their organisation is getting far too many things wrong. If they were doing things right they wouldn’t need a complaints department. Don’t be fobbed off. Unfortunately when we are vulnerable as in this grief we sometimes let them get away with it as, like a lot if things, it seems pointless to argue.
I think @Mike75 is right, insist on a face to face. The phone is too easy for them, looking them in the eye you will probably get answers you are looking for.
