, I lost my husband in March,..lost and lonely describes most of us here, especially at the beginning, ..do you have other family members around? It is very helpful to have support from family or friends..counseling or join a bereavement group helps as well…it’ll take time for you to start feeling even a little better, ..our lives have been completely changed with the loss of our loved ones and we need to find something that will help us to start living again without them..i hope posting here helps you talk about your feelings, we’re here to listen and hopefully offer you any advice..take care and God bless you ![]()
Hi Lightmary68
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Sadly I lost my Dad 14yrs ago and my brother 12yrs ago. It was just Mum and me since then. I just dont know how to be without her.
Hi lost, sorry to hear that about your dad and brother. My heart truly goes out to you, .do you have good friends around you for support?? We all need someone close to lean on for support. Or try and get counseling, im sure your doctor can refer you to someone. I’ll be praying for you, that God may strengthen.guide and comfort you during these difficult sad moments,..were here for you keep posting, if it helps..
Hello lostandlonely, I lived with Mum all my life. My Dad died many years ago. Mum died in October. How you are feeling is completely normal. Your life has been turned upside down. In these early days, cry if you feel like crying, talk about your Mum iif you need to. Most importantly make sure you eat and sleep. Going for a walk is good even if it feels surreal. Do you have someone to support you?
Ho Sparrow2,
Thank you for replying. I have support from my friends but no immediate family left. Friends are supportive but its lonely. Xxx
It is good that you have supportive friends to lean on. My family has gradually got smaller and the people who I was closest to have died. My advice is t try an take it one day at a time.
Hi lost and lonely,
I want to offer my deepest condolences to you on the loss of your mother. I lost my mom on the 25th October 2025, she was only 51. I’m not going to say I know how you feel because I don’t, everyone feels and grieves differently. But what I do want you to know, you aren’t alone through this difficult time, if you ever want to talk, please feel free to message, there’s no pressure though. God bless you and again, offering my sincere condolences.
