It was a smack in the face when I realised. But whether I wail or not, nothing’s going to bring Jeremy back. I would gladly break my other hip to make that happen. But it’s not going to.
Trolley man just came and asked what I want to drink. I said gin and tonic. He just looked confused. So, we settled on coffee. At least that’s what he says it is. It’s horrible. Xx

It’s amazing how bad some coffee can be. At one clients the coffee was left in the cup overnight. It ate through the plastic cup and was all over the table in the morning. Paint stripper would have been a closer description.

You lot could come and rescue me. There is a dragon that says I can’t use my charger because it’s not PAT tested. The worst is the nurse with blood clot busting needle that goes into my tummy. It stings and I feel like pinching her. The nurse that told me that breaking my hip and having the operation is the easy bit. Apparently the REALLY painful bit starts tomorrow I asked her if she had ever broken her hip. The answer was no, so I am working on a plan to push her over before discharge.. I like to help with staff development where I can. Xx

I know that injection in the tummy. Yes it does hurt. It’s left a permanent bruise on my tummy. I had it in 2022.

International rescue is airborne,I just don’t know if plastic puppets on strings can help much though.Xxx

That sounds awful. It makes you wonder why some of these people go into the caring profession.

Sorry for the delay in answering. I’m having trouble staying awake.
Its the co-codamol msking me ridiculously sleepy.

I’m so sorry you are in the same hospital as Jeremy, that must have been tough

Get well soon Jane
We all need you

Love and hugs

So sorry this happened to you @Willow112 ; we’re all so pleased to see you back. Hope the meds are controlling the pain. Maybe ask the hospital if Occupational Therapy can give you all the stuff you’ll need back home; toilet raisers, grabbers, shower seats etc.

When I was in hospital I had to be interviewed by the occupational therapist before I was allowed home. After Norman died one did come to me via my GP surgery. They have provided me with a trolley and a rollator.
I already had half steps at the doors. Grab rail in the shower and a comfort height toilet. I am considering installing one of those Japanese bidet toilets but would have to pay and the quote I got was £3000.
I would imagine Jane’s home has most things she needs due to Katie.

OT came round to the house to assess it. Told us to remove all the rugs, but they were really helpful and gave me a ton of Useful Things. The grabbers were far and away the most useful.

They are brilliant. I have 1 in the bedroom. 1 in the kitchen. 1 in the living room and 1 in the conservatory. You become very adept at picking up small things e.g. pills.
Looked at putting in grab handles by doors but where I would find them useful they would get in the way as well.
Wouldn’t let me have a ramp to get the rollator out of the house so I have to manhandle it down the step at the front and then back up Ramp only if you are stuck in a wheelchair. Also say can’t store it outside even with a cover. Currently keep it in the loo by the front door.

My house is adapted for Katie’s use so I have grab rails, wet room and ramps. No oromorph on tap though. Mind you, I do have Bacardi and tastes better. Xx
