Hello, I am back but not standing!

Well, looks like I will have to quit street dancing. It was when I tried introducing the pole into my routine that buggered me. Had hip replaced yesterday, thought I was doing well until the drugs wore off. But out of bed and sitting in a chair now. Hospital wifi will not let me log in on IPad but tried creating new account, still won’t play ball. At least I can get in with the mobile. I am now Zimjofrumtumpt or something I will never remember. It won’t let me send private msg either, so @Ron11 will have to find somebody else to send his saucy messages to.
Jamie is looking after Katie this weekend and social worker has sorted care this week. Hospital tell me too soon to say but maybe home next weekend and then 8 weeks recovery and no driving. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Ha! When I get out of here and proper wifi you will get a veritable shower of messages. None of them making sense.
It’s a bit grim and painful today, but Jamie and Katie visited, I now have a phone charger and a book to read. No tv and no books here ‘since Covid’. I wonder if the government know that tv transmits Covid? Xx

Hospital will have you up and walking and out of there quite quickly. They will probably teach you “ good leg to heaven bad leg to hell” for getting up and down stairs or any step.
My husband had a half knee replacement. Couldn’t drive. Hated my driving so much he recovered in super quick time. I only nearly killed us twice and once wasn’t my fault. He left his razor at the hospital so had to drive back. Down A303. Needed to take right round roundabout. Van on my inside. Car coming down A303 decided wasn’t going to give way at roundabout. Passenger had hands over her eyes. Van noticed and gave me space that I could move to inside whilst oncoming car did emergency stop.
Second time was my poor sense of spatial awareness. Thought a gap was bigger than it was. It was big enough. Just.
All be glad I no longer drive.
Xx

Last time I was in hospital I ended up with my own room and a tv although not gone private. Tv remote didn’t work well so I ended up watching people queue to see the queen lying in state for hours.

No change there then,Ime glad Katie and Jamie could visit, it helps you now have outside contact, you will have to get yourself a chauffeur for a few weeks, there’s a bloke from the Levi ad that’s available.xx

Thanks everyone. I missed you too. You are all my best friends, even though I wouldn’t recognise you if I fell over you. Maybe I did! Two very fit young men lifted me off the roadside and sat me in a chair. It happened outside a pavement cafe so I had a full audience and felt a right dick. I assured them I would be okay, but when I tried to stand up I was nearly sick with the pain. I phoned my son, he came , by which time the cafe owner came out. She told Jamie she used to be a nurse and to phone an ambulance or she would.
So here I am. Not much dignity.
I was doing ok on admission until they asked if I was married, who is my next of kin, and was there some one at home to care for me. Then I cried.
But it could be worse. At least I wasn’t home alone with Katie. Jamie had been abroad last weekend. Xx

Believe me Jane if you fell over me you would have a nice soft landing. It seems to be very easy to break a hip. At least you got 2 fit young men to lift you. Did Katie behave herself? No more rude signs? I expect you could have made a few.
Get well soon.

She made ‘sick? Pain’ signs at the canula and covered her face when they came to take more blood. Jamie distracted her,

The lengths you will go to attract two fit men,
The main thing is did you drink your coffee first,it would have been a waste to spill it.Xxx

I wasn’t a customer, I was just walking past, or rather, sliding past very quickly and face down! My action probably has a funky name now, face-planting, or something? Xx

Jane it’s so good to have you back

I’m so sorry you had to break your hip to get away from Ron for a few hours.

But he has been trying to keep us entertained.

I’m afraid the swamp is threatening a lot of people today but there are some of us here that have managed to get out of it for a while. So a few hands to pull.

But seriously I’m so glad you’re ok. You had us all worried
Please make sure you do rest as well and do as your told.

Lots of love and big hugs

Jane. Do as she’s told. I don’t see it somehow.

Sure you weren’t practising your torvil and dean bolero routine.

Thanks Liz, what is particularly sad is that I am in the hospital where Jeremy died and I can see his room from my bed.
However, no point in dwelling on it. Onwards and upwards is the only way.
