Hi again.

Just a little vent really. I lived, loved & cared for my mum, who I found deceased 4 months ago now. It’s starting to grate that family keeping saying that it’s going to be ok all of the time. I know they mean well, but it’s so easy to say that. It’s me that found my mum tragically dead and now I live alone with those thoughts, while they all have someone to show their love, talk, & laugh with everyday. I’d prefer if they didn’t say it really.

Hi Kate, I’ve just joined this community. Not really sure how it works. I just lost my mother two weeks ago. And I am absolutely lost and broken. I don’t like to say to others “I know how you feel” because I don’t. We’ve all got our own relationships and the beauty of them is that they’re all unique. All I can do is be grateful I was given an amazing mum and I’m really sad and heartbroken that she’s no longer here. I just hope and pray I’ll be reunited with her one day. I hope your days are getting easier, I can’t imagine how it is for you.

Hi Zara12

I’m so sorry to hear about your darling mum. Lost and broken is pretty much how we’re all feeling on this forum, so do keep posting and reaching out and know that there’s lots of good wishes and virtual hugs being sent out to you :hugs:

Personally I do believe we’ll all be reunited with our loved ones again….it’s just about getting through the “meantime”

Lots of love xx

Hi Kate80

So sorry to hear about your darling mum. I think people just don’t know what to say so they just open their mouth and nonsense comes out!

You just vent away and know that you’re not alone in how you’re feeling and there’s plenty of love and support for you right here. My love, hugs and best wishes to you xxx :hugs:

I lived and cared for my mam for many years. She passed away in June and I was so glad I was able to be with her. Every time I close my eyes I see her last moments play over and over again. Her telling me something wasn’t right and then her going into cardiac arrest. Watching her take her last breath …. and then she was gone. I’m sorry, but for me, it will never be ok again. She was my mam, and part of me left with her that night that I will never get back. It’s changed me and how I live in the world. I will never be that person again.

Some people can be so insensitive. We also lost my husband’s mother 3 weeks after mine and while he was fine about me not being able to go to her funeral after only just going to my mam’s his sister wasn’t. She said I needed to get my s*&t together, show some respect and get to the funeral. Some people can be very cruel, but we need to protect ourselves and deal with our loss our way xx

The world appears to be full of people who know better how to be us than we know ourselves. Some mean well and some are just selfish. For the ones who mean well and are trying their best, I explain to them what I would find helpful / more helpful and often they are very grateful to know. There is no proper way to grieve there is just the way that helps you get through the day and anyone who knows better than you is just playing wrong. Hugs to all from someone who lost her mother 11 months ago, having cared for her for many years and loved her dearly. J
