Holidays and Travelling alone for first time

Before my wife passed away in July this year, we used to go abroad 2 or 3 times a year. I have stayed at home this year, mostly because I am alone but partly because of Covid 19. I am now having the mindset of travelling abroad sometime next year, hoping early next year, but I have never travelled alone before. The prospect is rather scary.
Any advice on where to go or on Travelling alone?
I am going to do it… (I Hope)

Colin, I lost my husband of 50 years 2 and a half years ago next Thursday, been together since I was 15, never been on holiday on my own, never lived on my own until 2018.

I was told about a travel agents in Cardiff, who have a department specialising in cruises for solo travellers, they also have a facebook group page Passion for Cruises - For Solo Travellers. I booked a Caribbean cruise with them, obviously cancelled but not before they changed it for me to next December, never been in holiday on my own before as previously written, let alone been on a cruise before, but now I see it as the safest way to go on holiday well, for me it will be. Hope this helps.

hope today is an improvement on yesterday and tomorrow is an improvement on today

Hi Colin.I lost my husband 2 yrs ago and I can’t even think about going on holiday without him.I have so many happy memories of different places and Ron loved to sit in the sun all day.He always had an amazing tan. I can’t even think about going to the airport. I wish I had your strength to do this alone but sadly I haven’t.I wish you every success though and hope it helps you to move forward a little more.
