I lost my mother in november,
Which caused a huge spike in my depression, i also have two boys on the adhd pathway
But due to housework going on the backburner due to me not being in much as ive been called to school a lot, also my depression, im on a child protection plan with social services. The chairwoman said i should be over my mothers death by now. I lost my nan in 2022 and my mum died quickly in november after a week of not being able to move and talk. She had matasticised breast cancer in the spine. We had end of life team speak to us after 3 days and told us to prepare. My mum was my best friend, my biggest cheerleader and support system.
My question is:
How long is correct to get over it? Im constantly with my kids so dont have time to deal with the grief
Hello @Listerwife1991,
I’m so sorry to hear about your losses and what you are going through. It sounds as though things are very tough for you at the moment and you are feeling like you have not had the time to grieve.
I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support. You might already be familiar with our other Online Bereavement Support services, but if not, you can find out more about bereavement support, Grief Kind Spaces, and our Grief Guide self-help tools by visiting the link.

You can make an appointment with your GP and ask to be referred to counselling or support services in your local area, which you might find helpful to start now.
Take care - keep reaching out,
Alex
