@Johnr
I think your cousin gives sound advice re the sign for the table…
I’m doing alright thanks. It’s a tough call and I don’t like it but try my best to think ahead and not dwell on things that I can’t change. I miss John massively but I know he’s with me all the time, not how I’d like him to be but I know he’s around… That gives a bit of comfort.
Enjoy your day and lunch with your friend.
Good morning.
About to face breakfast
Glad you have some comfort. You take care
Hope you choose your table with care…
Enjoy your day. I hope the meal goes ok.
He was there this morning looking daggers at me.
I just smiled
Enjoy your day John, just ignore the miserable fella
Morning John
Enjoy your day with your friend, it will be good for you to talk with someone who has been through the same thing
It’s lovely here, bright sunshine, hope it’s nice where you are .
Morning Glenys. Yes looking forward to meeting up again. Haven’t seen her since her husband’s funeral in September 2019.
Sunny here this morning. View from my window just now.
Have a good day xx
Smiling is good.
It might have come out as more of a laugh
That’s a great view, looks like a good place to stay xx
@Johnr
Some people just need to lighten up a bit.
My John who was very well spoken and an imposing figure but with a mischievous side would’ve sat in exactly the same place again, not to cause trouble but to wind him up or he would politely but firmly have told him exactly what he thought…
Me…I would have returned the glare….
Jackie would’ve done the same
@Johnr
Hope you’ve had a good day and catch up with your friends wife…
Back from visiting the wife of my old friend who passed in 2019.
Lovely to see her again after 6 years. She cooked me a fabulous home made cottage pie and vegetables. It was much better than the ready meals I use or the stuff in the hotel.
It was just like Jackie used to make, when she was cooking.
We spent a long time chatting how she has been affected by the loss of her husband. It was comforting, if that’s the right word, to know she has had similar experiences and feelings that many of us here are having or had. She still cries, but not the flood of tears she had in the earlier days.
She also showed me some pics that her husband, the younger brother of our singer, had taken in the 60s. I had never seen two of them, which were taken as publicity pics for when we supported the Who in January 66.
They were probably taken late 65
Incidentally 3 of us are still alive and will play in the band if we ever play again
Sadly the chap lying on the seat passed in 2014.
So a great 5 hours eating and chatting. She even made me some fruitcake to eat tonight
@Johnr
What an absolute fabulous day you have had. I’m so pleased for you.
She will have loved cooking a good old cottage pie for you which is pure comfort food.
Cake as well…!!!
Love the photos…which one is you…
Glad you have had a good day John. Great to meet old friends and look at old photos.
Thanks
On the bench one, I’m on the right next to the singer. Our bass guitarist has his foot on the bench resting his head on his arm. The drummer, who passed is lying down.
On the other one, I’m leaning against a rail, with my hand in a pocket trying to look moody
What great photos John!
Sounds like you have had a nice day today.
Glad you had a good day , food & company.
