I am a fan of Jane Austen.

We went to Bath a few times when there were parades of people dressed up in the fashion of her day for the Jane Austen festival,

That’s right RoseGarden, he was a very sweet, loyal boy and my wife loved him to bits. He would go to work with her so she could give a squeeze between classes . I would have to pick him up so I would be included in the hug.

Wishing you all the best

I have also been busy in the garden today. I have put the first coat of paint it’s a arbour not a pergola. When it comes to the roof I’ll have to get my son’s help . As I can’t reach the top it even with a ladder . I also trimmed the hedge back with the cordless hedge trimmer. Hope you’re feeling a bit better .

Well done, that’s a lot. I’m afraid I gave up. Cut just enough hedge to see the path and strimmed the waist high nettles and weeds on the other path. Thought I’d start on the garage but only managed one shelf. Energy levels today were not great.

One buyer withdrew their offer (bedrooms too small) but another offer of full asking price. I’m not counting my chickens just yet.

Hope we both sleep tonight x

I know you have a lot to do , you need to take it easy as well. Buying and selling is never easy. Even harder when you’re on your own . I am sure everything will work for you with the house. I hope you have a peaceful evening.

Squidge, i think robins are a “sign “ from our dear loved ones, like feathers and suddenly hearing a song connected to them, or flickering lights.I have read various books to try and bring me some comfort.I read somewhere that we are all spirit living a human life, i dont know if that makes any sense? We are all different and some of us have faith as in religion, some of us may believe that when we live this earth thats it.i like to think there is more than what we know, like you say a sort of continuation after death.I am like yourself i long for something to leave me in no doubt there is something after we pass away.I often have read that we have to sort of ‘tune in” to these sort of things like tuning in a radio.Take care.

julia12,

Thank you.Weekends are so hard , as they are for so many of us on here.Sunday was the day my dear wife passed here at home in the living room.you are so right there doesnt seem any purpose in life anymore, it so feels like existing rather than living a life we used to know and love with our dear loved ones. Our life and ourselves have changed forever we will never be as we were. Its like a new chapter in our book of earthly life but i want to turn the pages back to what they were not what they are now.today was a bit more bearable, home from work back to the sad empty, lonely house. Its all so cruel.Take care.

Thank you Sarah

I don’t feel too bad just less energy and a nasty throat.

I have a lovely gentleman that is helping with the jobs I can’t do but he’s no spring chicken so I don’t want to put on him.

I’m selling the house because I can’t live there without Stephen, it was our dream home but it’s no longer mine without him. It’s too big with too much garden and I have no neighbours. I love the house and Stephen did such a wonderful job renovating it I feel guilty selling it but Stephen knew I wouldn’t live there on my own.

Thanks Helen, I hope you are feeling better. You have to look after yourself with that sore throat. My mother in-law would always give us a silk scarf to put round the throat. Might have been an old wives tale but it seemed to help. Wishing you all the best
