How’s your Day Going Today?

@Julia12

You’ve been through the mill but it’s lovely you’ll have company today and children have an innocent knack of making us happy.
I love cooking for lots of people, it’s not much fun for just one…but today is duck in orange sauce for me..
Have a fab time.

they all looked good, some pubs had go go dancers in cages suspended in the air, they were good times but you had to look the part, long hair,flared trousers,platform shoes,paisel shirts etc, there were 2 brothers I knew who moved down from Scotland near me,formed a group, not great but ok the sullivon brothers. they wrote a song living in the arms of Mary,rod Stewart recorded it, that set them up for life, most now though are old men well so hardly see them anymore or they died. how I wish we could turn the clock back,what does the future hold for us now

I hope you find some joy in your day today. As everyone has said the little ones always make us smile. I have also lost a lot of family members. Enjoy your day :hugs:

I remember the fashions , I used think I was the bees knees in my hot pants, long cardigan. and pvc knee length boots . Not forgetting my big platform shoes. Those were the days . I don’t know if anyone will remember the Four Pennies pop group. One of them used to live down the road from me when I was a child. There was always teenage girls queuing up outside there house to catch a glimpse of them .

@spike1

They were good times. I remember the go go dancers and I loved clubbing in Manchester in the early 70s.
It was a different exciting era altogether.
The future we have now is what we make of it.
There’s nothing else we can do is there.?
We’ve been lucky to have lived and loved and been loved with our partner. Wish it could’ve been forever but I don’t think there’s such a word as forever. What exactly does it mean really.:heart_hands:

I remember the Four Pennies. I met a guy once who said he had been the drummer with them but not too sure I believed him.
Early in his fame, Mark from Take That lived near me and played footie whenever here on a Sunday along with my eldest. He loved it cause there were masses of girls on the fields.
My daughter in law had her car bumped in the local petrol station and when she got out fuming she immediately calmed down when realised it was Mark Owen..
Why he picked an obscure place like Littleborough to live is beyond me..

Julia so sorry to read your post this morning. Life is so cruel at times.

Try to take some comfort in todays family time I know fully how once everyone has left the loneliness will hit ten fold but while they are there cherish in the times. Talk about your loved ones even if it’s through tears keep their memories alive through stories.

Sending you a virtual :hugs: and remember when everyone has left if you need to “talk” come on here we are all here for you xx

Let me die in my chair now is what I’ve just said to myself, I can’t bear the loss of my husband. I know I can say this here and you will understand. I feel like life is a fight just now. Three coats of paint and the leak is still showing through, the cover all paint has gone thick. I can’t keep the hedge cutters in the air ling enough to cut the top of the hedge.

Sorry folks feeling very sorry for myself x
