Morning All.

Bit of a miserable day here and the wind has dropped just as I want to wash bedding etc.
I’ll just dodge the rain all day hanging it out n bringing in.
Tomorrow my cousin from Oban coming down for a few days. Not staying with me but not far away at her sisters so they’re all round tomorrow so I need to think of food etc for them. It’ll be a fun time as both her and me slightly crazy…

@Brandon1
I’m sure you’re enjoying having company staying and planning days out. Enjoy.

@Johnr I’m going to try and find a rose named John…better be a red one if there’s such a thing.
He’d be mortified if it’s any other colour than red being from Lancashire.
I’d find it quite funny especially if it’s white.:heart_hands:

Lol an ex of mines was from there, he used to always call me that, I found it funny and peculiar but not offensive.

Have to say, I do miss the oatcakes, especially topped with grilled cheese, tomato, bacon, you can’t get them anywhere else!

Morning John
Your roses are beautiful. I have a rose in my garden for each of parents , sister that has passed away. It will be what would have been our wedding anniversary in 2 weeks time. I am planning on getting a rose for my husband. I am in the process of choosing the right one . I have no room for trees for the garden. Sounds like you and Catherine have a productive day planned.

I found the website too and have to admit it suits my John.
Says it’s upright, well he walked tall n straight at 6’3”.
Also fragrant, well he wore a lovely fragrance from Amouage..
Most importantly it’s red.
I will be ordering it today…

@Brandon1 morning Tom, my back is much better this morning, although it does feel asthough I need to be very carefull not to set it off again. I can’t remember when I last had a totally painfree day, other than following having had spinal nerve block injections. Hope you manage to find some better weather for your visitors today. Years ago when we visited Rachel’s friend, from her nurse training, up in the hills near Malaga the weather was awful but that was in March. There was a really spectacular thunderstorm across the valley one evening. Other than the cruises I’ve been on, that was my one & only holiday abroad, partly due to Rachel’s health. Our flight home wasn’t totally uneventful, that classic announcement was made of ‘is there a doctor or nurse aboard!’ Rachel was the closest they could get to onboard, a part trained nurse travelling as a disabled passenger! There was a group of men aboard who’d been on a golfing break, one of them had, had a heartattack a little while before their trip. He had his doctors ok to go but was feeling very unwell, so Rachel had to go to check on him. The pilot got emergency clearence to land at Heathrow if Rachel thought he needed to. Her comment was just get us down! So we had a full emergency landing, fire engines, ambulance etc chasing along the runway! Her parents were picking us up from Stansted & I was worried that if they heard we’d diverted due to a medical emergency onboard that they’d panic thinking it was her! The first any of those collecting people at Stansted knew was after the pilot gave us permission to use our mobiles to call them! I’ve only flown 3times to & from Malaga for that holiday & one year Rachel got me a Northern Lights flight for Christmas. We didn’t see the Northern lights on that flight and in over 300 flights they’d organised, it was one of the worst they’d ever had! They were in single figures of total no shows & our’s was one of them! The Northern lights made up for that on our cruise to northern Norway in 2019. I’ve been waffling on again!

I wish the weather here today would stop dithering and decide what to do. There’s some really dark clouds & some blue sky, just now it was having a try to rain now the sun’s trying to breakthrough!
