Hello @KirstieCustard,

I’m so sorry to hear about your husband, and that you’re feeling hopeless and struggling to cope. I’ve sent a private message with further support, but please keep posting here and others will be along to support you :blue_heart:

Take good care,

Harriet

Dear Kirstie I am sorry you are suffering so much after all these years. You say you haven’t had time to grieve, are you thinking of having some counselling now? I think that talking about the pain we have gone through helps us come to terms with things whereas pushing the pain to one side, may work in the short term, but it also doesn’t resolve anything. This site has been a godsend to me since my wife died as everyone here understands the pain of a bereavement. I hope you find some solace here. Talking about your husband. My wife died on Christmas day after two years of cancer treatments. I saw this really sweet girl at eighteen walking passed me on a London street. Of course I had to stop and catch her up to find out who she was and fortunately I found out she was my future wife. All I had to do was follow her to her home in Spain and marry her. I was blessed to have been her husband for almost forty years. Wishing you all the strength you will need and sending hugs

Dear Kristie

I’m sorry you too have lost your husband, may a ask how long it’s been? For me it has been just a year since I lost my wonderful husband.

I cope by not thinking about it as much as possible. I keep busy, keep my brain occupied. Being outdoors helps, going for a walk, watching the birds in the garden. I also joined a bereavement group which helped as there was a counsellor there you could chat too if needed.

This group has kept me sane. You can ask anything or just chat if your feeling low. I also searched old posts for anything that was bothering me. There are some amazing people in this group who will always be around to help.

Your not alone, we all understand. Welcome to the group nobody wanted to join but are so glad we did when we needed it.

Take care, Helen x
