Thanks for your kind words,I appreciate it!
Thanks for understanding .
@Chuck1 Hi Chuck! Welcome to the place no one wants to be. I lost my husband to Alzheimerās, 9 years ago. I was prepared for loosing him ( he was far gone ) but not for the craziness of the first year of loss. Numbness, disorientation, accidents weird occurrences. Be very careful, realize you are not in your right mind. Try to take care of yourself, and reach out here, whenever necessary!
Hello Chuck, so sorry for the loss of your wife, I lost my husband 4 months ago..I feel the same, like half of me is gone, my husband was the only one who really understood me and was there for me. The only one who will truly love me like he did. And he was my everythingā¦.i am truly sorry for your loss. Take care and may God strengthen and comfort you during this difficult time. God bless you ![]()
Hi Geeman
Very sorry for the loss of your lovely wife. Itās the most unimaginable pain isnāt it, the heartache is neverending. My husband died 9 months ago from pancreatic cancer and ever since, Iām just wandering around and donāt know my place in this world anymore. Donāt even know how Iām still here, as I donāt look after myself. I drink too much and started smoking again. I really donāt care anymore. I have no children and my family are not good to me. Only my cat keeping me here at the moment.
God is nonexistent to me now. He didnāt feature much prior to this happening, but is definitely not there for me now.
Your story is very sad as the suddeness of how it happened. At the end of the day, however we lose our soulmates, itās still devastating for us left behind. The loneliness and longing for them is unbearable.
Take care
Hi Gee-Man,
I wanted to share my experience of loss to somehow try and help give a real sense of hope in grief. My husband died from an accident whilst abroad approx six months ago . We too married nearly 50 years and had plans for future holidays, in fact we booked another cruise days before his death. We have children and grandchildren had good health, ate sensibly and exercised regularly. The day he died we were sunning on a beautiful island and we were in a joyous mood. As Christians we both believe in the promise of heaven and thanked God every day for his blessings bestowed on our family. I too was involved with CPR but to no avail. In a foreign land, involving repatriation, no family around me, I am still traumatised but I donāt blame God. We live in a fallen world which was never Gods intention, in fact, He sent his only son Jesus , to make a way for us and take away the sting of death. God is not the author of suffering heās the finisher, when Jesus said āit is finishedāon the cross that is what he meant. We will have suffering in this world until Jesus returns but He says to take heart as He has overcome this world. God is also close to the broken hearted, we just need to turn to Him. Now Iām not saying Iām fine after my husbands death , because Iām not. I miss him terribly and have questioned why God allowed this to happen. The only answer I can find is that there we are all vulnerable to disease and accidentās and we will all die but there is real hope for reunion after death in Christ. I thank God for giving me this hope and pray my faith will inspire others. God bless ![]()
Beautifully said.![]()

Hello Mandyoz, so sorry for the loss of your husband, I lost my husband in March, he was 57. Hi @Mandyoz
Not heard from you for a while
How are you
Just like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for their kind words and sharing their journey.
I know every one is different, every ones situation is different , every ones loss happened differently. But the forum has shown me that, in that āDifferenceā every ones grief is similar. The guilt, the anger, the darkness and confusion⦠and that gut wrenching pain! But mostly the forum shows we are not alone on this journey.
Everyone on here makes a difference, you help us to breath and see life again, even though we sometimes donāt know it and I thank you all for that.

Morning @Mandyoz
I find now I am a bit more calmer and peaceful than I was . I still take one day at a time . I try to get out of the house as much as I can . Sitting in thinking doesnāt help me . I go walking, swimming, and I have recently joined the U3A which has lot of activities to choose from . I hope you find some peace in your day .
Take Care
Sorry to hear of your loss, 56 is no age at all these days. I think when you have loved someone that long, your souls become one, āTwo Hearts Occupying One Soulā. Thats a bond that canāt be broken by time or distance but it can be cherished, loved and endured.
Loved ones arenāt really gone, they are just gone from sight. They are just around the corner, just behind the door, just in that whisper!
Keep Safe and keep talking.
Best wishes Gee
Thank you so much for your very soul full words xx
You take care Hun ![]()

Hi @Mandyoz
I am glad you have friends you can count on that is so important now.
Itās nearly 10 months since I lost my husband. When I hit the 6 month mark I had a real downer . It took a while for me to pick myself up again .
I had counselling , and attended a bereavement cafe which really helped me .
I have found the only people who understood us are the people who are going through what we are
I hope you find some peace in your day
Take Care
