I feel saying “I am fine” is a lie so I say “same as usual” which feels more truth but I get an odd look but I do not care any more. No one wants to hear it anyway. But pretending is so wearing so often avoid going because it takes so much out of me. I prefer kids and animals mostly because they cheer me up. They are so refreshing. I was at gp surgery and this little girl was tryjng to cope with a 4o minute wait already while her mum stared at her phone so she looked at my knitting (my go to thing). I said “Do you like playing I SPY?” She nodded. So we did.
I love that story @Enorac . So uplifting. Kids and animals certainly do cheer you up. They don’t think, analyse, pretend or judge; they are just in a state of being.
Enorac, your subconscious mind soaks in your words and brings them to fruition. That is it’s job. Please try to say good things about your life, even if not true. Your subconscious can’t distinguish true or false.
I now say “I am good! How are you?” Should they say “have a nice day”, I say “I’m already having it!” Often, I will add “now that I’ve met you!”. Gives them a smile and make me happy to see them smile.
Grab all the positivity you can.
Isn’t it just awful that people ignore their children and focus on their phones. They push strollers of children and have phones attached at the handle so they can chat with friends and watch tik-tok instead of talking to and sharing with their kids.
Wasn’t it fun to play “I spy”? Keep that sweet though in your head.

Peaches
Hi PeachesDixon I love your mind set. My wife and I had an English Academy in a small block of flats in a little town and we had some terrible neighbours. They tried to make our lives difficult for twenty five years we smiled and said hello to them only to be ignored. When we closed the Academy because of my wife’s cancer diagnosis, we met them in the street and they broke down in tears and asked to be forgiven. It was a beautiful moment even if it took so long. Everyone is worth the effort.
Wishing you all the best
