I was wondering how I can get help with coping with a sudden death?
Hi Leah3
I’m so sorry to hear about your boyfriend. I know we previously signposted you to some of our support, I’m going to reshare that below as well as some other places to get help.
We have support including:
-
Our Grief Guide self-help platform which has information, resources and advice to help you through your grief
-
Our Grief Coach text service, which sends you personalised text support via SMS
-
Our free Online Bereavement Counselling which is held via video chat
-
Our Bereavement Information pages which can walk you through what you are going through.
-
You can speak to your local GP for support in your area and to ask to be referred to counselling.
-
If you start to feel overwhelmed, you can call 111 and choose the mental health option to speak to a trained mental health professional (England, Scotland and Wales only)
-
Samaritans are available 24/7 to talk about anything that you are worried about in confidence. You can call them on 116 123.
-
Shout are contactable by text, 24/7. You can text REMEDY to 85258 and talk to them about anything.
-
WAY (Widowed and Young) have support for anyone under 50 who has lost a partner. Online forums and offline meet-ups, https://www.widowedandyoung.org.uk, and there is also WAY Up which is the same as WAY, but for people 50+, http://www.way-up.co.uk/
I hope that this is some help, and you can find the support you need.
Keep reaching out, the community is here for you.
Take care, Rhi
