I have just been talking in one conversation about something my late husband said. It made me laugh at the time, but now gives me goosebumps but I thought it might make you all smile on this cold but sunny Saturday morning!
We were sat watching the D-Day commemoration in June and Tom Jones sang “I won’t crumble if you fall” I was getting a bit emotional watching it until my dear departed husband said “just so you know, I won’t crumble if you fall, I will sell the house, cash in the pensions, buy a massive motor home and travel the world” That amused me at the time and we both laughed. 3 weeks later, on a lovely sunny morning at the end of a June, he fell. When I am having a bad day, I listen to that song and whisper to him “I promise I won’t crumble either “:

Good mourning @Recentwidow. I agree that song is very poignant and made even more so by Sir Tom Jones singing it. What a voice! He sings it with great emotion. You’re right @Recentwidow, you won’t crumble, nor will I, because we’re strong and we carry our beloved men in our hearts.

It is very emotional isn’t it. Those old solders
And you are right Kate, we won’t crumble, we owe it to our wonderful men to carry on and enjoy our lives, however hard that might seem at this moment. I am living mine for both of us x
