Hi Pandaprincess,
Lovely to hear from you again. Try not to worry too much today but certainly get it checked with your doctor. I lost over a stone and dropped a dress size after my mum passed with all the shock and grief.
It will be good when you get your scan done also as you are probably worried about that too.
Keep eating as much as you can

Hi,
@Nori thanks for the tip,
& @seychelles thanks for your kind words. Thank you both for your support. Sending hugs.
Hi,
I’ve had my test results, finally, gladly the polyp they removed was non-cancerous, & my CT scan was fine, but they’re referring me back to the GP, saying they think the bleeding is caused by one little haemorrhoid, but this doesn’t explain my weight loss, I’ve lost 2stone within the last 9 months, I’m the smallest I’ve been since before my teens, & this doesn’t explain why my bowel is inflamed, it was in my sample, & on my colonoscopy, I just feel I’m being fobbed off.
Hi Panda princess,
Thanks for letti g us know as I have been thinking about you. Thank goodness it was ok.
Keep trying to get answers from your GP about the weight loss and hopefully everything will be fine

Hi, thank you both for your message & support,
@Nori what you say sounds right, it probably is something like IBD, I’m going back to my doctor about it, I’ll ask about it.
They’re doing a follow-up colonoscopy in 5 years to keep an eye on it, but no they haven’t checked my small bowel, & they didn’t do a complete colonoscopy, they got just under half way & had to stop because it was too painful, then did the CT scan of my colon, I presume they chose to send me for the scan rather than send me for another colonoscopy because of how much pain I was in & very distressed, but I know for next time, opt for the sedation, not the gas & air.
Hi,
Sadly I’m still getting fobbed off by the doctors, so I googled herbal remedies for inflamed bowel, it suggested probiotics & vitamin D, so I’ve been taking vitamin D supplements, the weird thing is, though I’m still passing a little blood, I’m not passing as much as I was, though I do still get tummy pain. I’ve also looked up a private hospital, Initial consultation is est £200, & a colonoscopy is £2,305 but it’s a hospital I’ve been to before for other things, & they are very good there.
Hi Panda princess,
Just read your latest post. Please go back and see the GP or hospital consultant as you are still passing blood.
Five years ago I was like you and thought I was being fobbed off. I persisted and made appointment after appointment bec I knew something wasn’t right. Thankfully I was referred for a colonoscopy. Two tiny minute polyps were found and one came back as cancer. I honestly don’t want to frighten you in any way but please don’t sit and accept this. I was operated on straight away and a lot of my colon removed as it had spread. I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to go through the op and the recovery that I had to and it could have been much less had I been seen earlier. However I was extremely lucky. Trust your instincts and go and demand to be seen again.
Love Deborah x
I fully agree with seychelles - time is your biggest enemy when it comes to cancer. Do not procrastinate.
£2k seems excessive for colonoscopy - I’m sure you can get it cheaper elsewhere, but get it done
It may be nothing or unrelated to cancer, but that’s the first box to tick
Have they done a endoscopy, to check your stomach etc . This is one area they don’t seem to check ,and at the moment seem to be on the increase?
Hi Panda princess,
Not sure where you live but if you are thinking of going private a good idea would be to phone every private hospital near you for a quote. Even if you have to pay the price you mentioned do it at whatever cost. It’s nothing compared to the price of your life and your peace of mind.
I think it’s either that or keeping on and on to see your GP but waiting again to be referred can be more time lost. It’s only now I realise thank god I kept on
X
Hi,
Just wanted to update you. Today I had a consultation appointment at the hospital, though I’m still passing blood, my latest sample apparently shows the inflammation in my bowel has gone down, they did a physical examination, but still have no idea what caused the inflammation in the first place, or the tummy pains I keep having, she basically said keep a food diary to see if anything you eat makes any difference, & I’ll get a second opinion & let you know if we decide to do any more tests. I can already tell her, I have the pain when I have a bowel movement, I avoid eating more solid foods like meat most of the time because it is too painful, other that that, what I eat makes no difference whatsoever, I can’t help feeling I’m just being fobbed off again. GRRRRR!
But something the consultant did tell me, though the polyp they removed was non-cancerous, they did find a small cluster of cells in it, she did say the medical name for it, & she explained that basically what it means is, if that polyp had been left there, that cluster of cells would of probably become a cancerous growth in a number of years time, so glad they removed that at least.
Hi Pandaprincess,
Good news about the polyp at least.
The cancerous polyp they removed from my colon they told me had been growing for 10 years. So glad they removed yours.
Keep asking for answers though

@Pandaprincess I agree with @seychelles keep nagging and ask for a referral to a gastroenterologist
Glad the polyp was removed
Sound advice MemoriesOfUs. Anyone can get lost in the system and fobbed off so easily. Been there had the T Shirt springs to mind and I can only advise anyone to keep on and on, get referred and referred until finally it’s sorted. Never give up Panda princess until you are happy with the situation.
