Increased anxiety

Hi
Has anybody been put on or had medication increased for anxiety since losing a loved one? I’ve had mine increased since losing my dad just wondered if anyone else is going through the same and how are they feeling :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hi @VickyJane,

I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad. I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I just wanted to let you know that you have been heard and you are not alone :blue_heart:

Keep reaching out,
Ben

Hi. I’m on anti-anxiety meds as needed now, so I take them when it’s really bad, not regularly. It works so-so, I probably would have to take a high dose for it to be really effective. Hugs! :people_hugging:

Hi @VickyJane ,

So sorry for your loss, I lost my mum 1.5 years ago and anxiety hit me like a brick back in September there, out of no where. I couldn’t eat and felt overly tired all the time, went to visit the doctor and was told its all part of grief and was put on a beta blocker to help with the physical symptoms of anxiety, which has been a life saver for me. I’m doing better, but have upped my exercise, trying to eat less processed foods and started listening to meditation podcasts before bed along with ice baths (plunge pool) to help my nervous system, all of which are helping. The negative thoughts are still there, but i’m trying to push them on, acknowledging them and trying to change them to a more positive thought, just being more mindful of my thinking. I hope your anxiety lessens overtime, but its defiantly all part and parcel of the grieving process. Sending hugs xx

@FeeBell Thankyou so much for your kind words, i have been on antidepressants for years but the gp suggested increasing which comes with unwanted side effect which obviously makes the anxiety worse. We all miss our dad so much :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
