It’s the little things

Today I visited the bank and closed his account. Dry eyes throughout. I went shopping alone and had to buy stuff he normally would, hose pipe fittings, batteries, that kind of thing. I did it admirably if I may so so myself.
Then I got back in the car and saw his sunglasses.
That is what undid me. Xx

Today it was a tiny bit of music that brought back a memory and then seeing 4 numbers he had written down.

I stood in line for the till with all the hairy-arsed builders feeling quite pleased with myself because I was “coping”.
Handwriting is another rabbit hole for me, too. His was quite distinctive.
I am not into tattoos, but one widow I know took a letter her husband had written, and the tattooist copied his writing perfectly. It said “I love you”, tattooed on her arm in her husband’s writing.
Now I think about it, a tattoo would have fitted in with all the others in the queue this morning. Maybe I will get an anchor tattoo, like Popeye!
