Its the little things!

Last night I got cramp in my thigh, just moved my leg and it was agony. Didnt know what to do. My husband always knew what to do to make it go away. Got myself in a right tizzy. Walking up and down ,crying, wanting my husband ,it was awful. Could not calm down. Told my daughter today and started again.
Its these little things that make you realise you are on your own. No one looking out for you,its really brought me down. Thought I was doing better.
Cannot get used to the ‘aloneness’

Hi woody , I got a leg cramp the other night too. It hurts so bad, I think its the way we stretch, my husband use to get them too…and I know what you mean about the little things. My husband and I went everywhere together, today i had to go pick up my subscription glasses, and of course my husband would always go with me to the mall, we’d get a smoothie and walk around, this time I was alone. No one to ask how my glasses looked..yes I don’t like being alone.

Dear Woody

I know just how you feel. It’s a shock realising that the person that was always there for us and made everything feel better is no more. I’ve got to have an operation, I’m dreading it I’ve never been in hospital. My husband would have understood, he’d have been there for me and held me. Everyone else says,.. it will be fine, you’ll be in and out. It really is a lonely life x

Yes I know what you mean about feeling lonely, weekends are always the worst so yesterday I visited a national trust property that we used to visit together regularly, I walked in the beautiful gardens and went into the house alone, had lunch on my own, Watched all the couples enjoying each others company. I sat on a bench and I could have cried, it’s a lonely life we now live.

Oh Tony that’s so sad and exactly how I feel too.

We torture ourselves visiting these places, I think we are still trying to find them there in some way. I did have a wonderful experience in the woods where we will be scattered though. I sat amongst the blue bells heartbroken but then had an amazing feeling of calmness. It was so lovely.

I hope today is a better day x

Thanks Helen, it is comforting to know there are others who go through the same struggles.

Thinking of you
