Lack of understanding of grief

Yes it’s a frightening thought of 20+ years on your own isn’t it Xx

Yeh it really is !

You would think someone who is part of the mental health team would have an understanding of people who are grieving I was called in today just for a checkup to see how I’m coping with the loss of my partner and after seeing the doctor I was seen by a male nurse? Not sure if he should be a part of the mental health team after talking about what I’m struggling with the only advice he gave me was that I need to man up apparently it’s only women who struggle with the loss of a partner that visit was not helpful at all

I’ve made a complaint via my GP and she is arranging for me to be changed over to the home team she couldn’t believe it I think it’s the same with men and mental health problems people think it doesn’t affect us thanks for your reply and you take care

Hello Selinajayne, I am so sorry about the death of your daughter. I haven’t had that experience but your message made me so sad for you.
I have no words that can help you but I just felt I had to say that I am thinking of you and hoping you will find the strength to get through the pain.
With hugs, AnnR

Deb5. How true, I think men suffer more looking at male/ female split in my support group, probably 75% men.
