I lost my wife onaug 16 last year i was a total mess for a couple of months but things improved a little but of late my crying and depression are increasingly dragging me down i would love to hear from anyone who is in the same situations and do you have any coping mechanisms that you think could help me through
@16115patty
Sorry to hear of your loss and the fact you are struggling. I can’t compare with you as John passed in March this year and I was fine the first few weeks but now realisation has settled in and it’s not good at all.
Have you done bereavement counselling at all. There is a website Bereavement Journey that are usually run by churches so I don’t know if there is one near you…
It’s just the most awful time for us all and I haven’t found a coping mechanism yet but I do know to let the tears flow is meant to help but I don’t know how.
Although I do think I’m not quite as bad even though it is daily and mostly in the mornings when I can cry for England…
Hi Spatty, Sorry that you are a bit down at the moment. My village runs a Bereavement Cafe once a month which I have found helpful. I also get out to other activities which give me social interaction like a book group. My grief comes in waves I hope that you are due an upturn soon.
Thank you for your kind words the only thing that helps stem the tears is keeping busy for me i know its still raw for you andyour family and i wish i could help you more to help you through the grief im here if you need to chat xx
Thank you iwill see if anything local to mee
@16115patty if you have a local hospice near you they may do bereavement counselling.
I can throughly recommend it, I am 20 months into this awful journey.
