Losing my wife was bad enough and now my heads in a spin with having to deal with probate! plenty of people ready to take my money but no real help pages etc… When you’re at your lowest, there’s people trying to take everything… I’m going to try and do it on my own 
Did anybody else do it on their own?

My wife passed in April this year,and yes my daughter and I did all the sadmin without professional help,most of it is pretty straight forward the complicated one is probate,if you make just one tiny mistake they put your case on hold,my advice would be to read every question three times then carefully check it when finished,hope this helps.

I did probate on my own and it only took two weeks to get approved. Only one entity wanted probate so I wasn’t that happy about having to shell out for it but there you go so many people want a bit of what you have/haven’t got. Good luck

The only one I needed to do probate for was for Pete’s premium bonds. Such a rip off as if you haven’t got enough to cope with. I paid a solicitor to help me but my sister who has more patience than me did it herself and said it wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be. Best of luckDerek.

Thanks! I’ve read some messages here and another site and decided to have a go! I’ve got plenty of time haven’t I!!! It’s only one Bank that needs it and it’s so frustrating!! All the fees so that i can get what’s legally mine! Never mind! We can’t change that part!
Mine was CynergyBank!! The Government should make a standard threshold for all accounts! Every bank is different!
