Losing an adult daughter to suicide

I lost my beautiful 26yr old daughter Beth to suicide 5 months ago. Ive had alot of mixed emotions in dealing with losing Beth. Over last week i have found it very difficult very emotional and not being sociable ( which isnt like myself). Is there anyone who is going through bereavement through suicide that i can talk to. Would be grateful of any advice. Thankyou.:broken_heart:

Hello @Beth26 ,

I can see that you’re new to the community. I hope you find it to be a support to you, but I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter that brings you here.

You say you are feeling so many mixed emotions. I wanted to share some sources of support that might help you right now.

  • Child Bereavement UK support families with the loss of a child. They also support bereaved children. You can call their helpline on 0800 02 888 40.

  • The Compassionate Friends support families who have lost a child of any age. You can call them on 0345 123 2304

Sue Ryder also has some resources which can help you cope with grief.

Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone.
Take care,

Alex

Hello, I’m so sorry for your loss, you’re in the early days and it’s not surprising to have lots of conflicting emotions and feeling different from one day to the next.

Have you thought about the “three dads walking book” that they have released called “300 miles of hope?”

They raise money for a charity Papyrus who have a helpline? it may help to talk to other parents?

My thoughts are with you.
