I am an only child of a single parent Mum. My mum died 5 months ago and the feeling of no connection and not belonging anywhere is overwhelming.

Sending you hugs and letting you know you are not alone.

I had 6 free sessions with Marie Curie and they were amazing. Got nowhere with my GP and nhs.

Also if you are a civil servant there is some help available, that one is a bit random.

I cant afford to pay i tried the one through the doctors and they just gave me a number for my local branch but I cant get through im thinking im like this because all three of them had those pure cremation and you don’t get to goodbye

Keep trying with the number, I sure you will get through at the right time.

I think all loss is difficult, for me its the enormity of never seeing them again.

Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel it all. The pain never goes we just learn to live with it. Xx

I lost my mum last year. I was told they don’t offer counselling for the first 6 months. I have had counselling. I was offered 6/7 sessions. I was lucky, the counsellor was really nice and sympathetic. When I reached the 7th session my counsellor suggested that I had more sessions. I had 4 extra sessions. So, in total I had 11 sessions and accepting counselling was the best thing I ever did. I hope you get your counselling and it helps you as much as it did me. I still have my down times but I’m here for you if you ever want to chat.
