Hi, I lost my mom recently. We were very close and I help care for her in her final months. I’m frustrated that I unable to get upset and release my feelings. I see photos of my mom and recall memories but there’s no emotion, and I don’t understand it.
Hi @Darren60,
Thank you for bravely reaching out. I’m so sorry to hear about the recent loss of your mum. I can imagine how devastating it must have been if you had a very close relationship, and especially if you helped to care for her in her final months. Many people find that they are numb after losing someone. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and what you’re experiencing is very common.
You are not alone. I’m not sure if you’ve read through our Losing a parent category. But there you can connect with other members who are living with grief after losing a parent.
I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support to you. In the meantime, you might find these Sue Ryder resources helpful to read.
