Losing my mum

My beautiful mum died suddenly early hours on Mother’s day, she was found in her chair by my sister and couldn’t be saved as she had been there all night. The pain im feeling is unreal. i dont know how to live without her. I was the last person she spoke to and told me she loved me x
We spoke about my wedding and how much she wanted to be there and would try. On mother’s day i called all day to speak to her and thought she was with my sister i called so many times but little did i know the phone was ringing next to her and mum was gone. This is the most horrific pain i feel, i hate everyone i hurt i feel lost and so alone. My wedding was due to be 2nd april ive had to cancel as it may be my mums funeral that week and can’t go gretna green and marry without her. Feel like my life has stopped and I cant go on. I just need her so bad

Hello @Debc82 sorry for the pain of your devastating loss. These early raw days of grief seem very brutal and the landscape ahead very bleak. All you can do is take each day as it comes and get through this time. Try to find a simple routine to follow; prioritise self care because you are still in shock and that will steal all your energy. Lean on family and friends, accept offers of help and keep talking about your feelings. Have no expectations for the future, literally just deal with now because that’s enough at the moment. You will no doubt feel every emotion as you try to process what has happened. Know that this is completely normal. Give yourself time, there’s no rush and grief has no timeline. I lost my Mum suddenly and unexpectedly in January last year so I can understand and empathise with the heartbreaking shock. Sending you best wishes, take care xx

Thank you so much for your reply, i have postponed my wedding as all i can think of is my mum and that my world has stopped turning she gave me her wedding band last week and i was last to speak to her Saturday night. Im trying to take comfort that she passed away in her chair at home and looks like it was in her sleep. I dont have much support and feel so alone without her. I know i will never feel the same again. She was my everything
