I lost my partner on holiday in Malta in August. Although I have my daughter near I find
night times very difficult and cry a lot. I can cope during the day
Hello @Blueeyes ,
I can see that you’re new to the community, so I wanted to say that I am so sorry for the loss of your partner that brings you here.
I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I wanted to share a few Sue Ryder resources with you that may help right now.
- Our Grief Guide self-help platform which has information, resources and advice to help you through your grief
- Our Grief Coach text service, which sends you personalised text support via SMS
- Our free Online Bereavement Counselling which is held via video chat
- Our Bereavement Information pages which can walk you through what you are going through.
Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone.
Take care,
Alex
Thank you
So sorry for your loss. Grief is strange. I lost my husband 19 months ago and to everyone I’m ok. They see me when I’m busy or at work or on outings . They don’t see that I have evenings and nights when I cry because I miss him. I think I always will but it does get easier over time. When I’m at a low I use this site as everyone on here is in the same boat and understands. Take care .
This is my first time on the Sue Ryder website
I am really struggling to come to terms with my partners diagnosis of her Leukemia.
We thought everything was going well, she was in remission after first round of chemotherapy
Then the bombshell, the cancer had come back a lot more aggressive.
The doctors have given her a 30% chance of surviving this.
Just don’t know what to do…

So sorry to hear that but 30% chance is still a positive. So try to use this time enjoying every minute of her company. Say and do all the things you have put off. Don’t anticipate the grief enjoy her life . All on here will support you. We all know we are going to die just not when and nor do the doctors so just enjoy annd make every minute count for now.
