Hello @Dean1310,

I can see that you’re new to the community. I hope you find it to be a support to you, but I am so sorry for the loss of your son that brings you here.

Your loss is so very recent and raw. I wanted to share some sources of support that might help you right now.

  • Child Bereavement UK support families with the loss of a child. They also support bereaved children so they may be helpful for you in supporting your daughters with the loss of their brother. You can call their helpline on 0800 02 888 40.

  • The Compassionate Friends support families who have lost a child of any age. You can call them on 0345 123 2304

Sue Ryder also has some resources which can help you cope with grief.

Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone.

Take care,

Hi Dean,

I’m terribly sorry to read about your poor son and the horrible situation you and your family now find yourself in. I may be someone who can understand your situation, even if only a little. I lost my 15 year old son in October 2022. He died suddenly (and totally unexpectedly) during the night from a brain stem haemorrhage. We found him in the morning. His grandad (my FIL) had died just 6 days before him, so it has been and continues to be an extremely tough time.

I’m sure that, like me, you’ll be feeling somewhat lost, numb and so very sad as you navigate this new world of heartbreak. I hope you are your family are able to support each other. If you need someone to share your thoughts and sadness with, I am here.

Take care,
