My mother commited suicide exactly a week after her 45 birthday, she was a successful woman then one day an alcoholic. She took an overdose while living with a man who was physically abusing her. She was found two days later in the bedroom

This is just awful. I’m so very sorry for your loss 
alcohol ruins so many families. My mum was once an alcoholic herself but her cancer put a stop to that as she physically couldn’t drink. We had just celebrated her 60th birthday a month before she passed. I wish I had words to ease your pain x

Hi my full condoneses, my husbands father did the same and suffered the same illness. Things that have helped him heal over the years was going on a walk to remember those who took their own lives as its very powerful. Also joining a group called adult children of alcoholics and now recently scattering their ashes. Wishing you well with your bereavement as it will all make sense
