I’ve just recently lost my Mam and finding it really difficult as we were together all the time. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a couple of years ago and was doing well after chemo for a good while. Then last year was told nothing more could be done for her. I can’t get out of my head the deteriation over the last couple of months until her death. It’s a horrible disease to watch your loved one go through. How has anyone else coped with this.
Hi Becca,
I just want to say, I’m so sorry on the recent loss of your beloved mam, I offer my deepest condolences. I too lost my mom back in October last year, not in the same manner, but I completely understand what you mean about not being able to get things out of your head. If I’m honest, 10 months on I still get flashbacks, I try to ground myself, but do struggle a lot. I just want you to know you aren’t alone in this and it may help talking about your mam, the stuff she liked, your fondest memories of her, things she found funny. If it’s not too painful for you to do, I do this and try to think of mom in happier times.
Again I really do offer my deepest sympathy to you and your family, take each day as it comes and remember, how difficult some days might be, you’ve got this and your Mam will be by the side of you every step of the way
x
Thank you so much for those kind words and advice x
