Loss of my mum

This is all very raw as I lost my mum suddenly last week. It was a huge shock and she wasn’t poorly. In fact was living her best life but unfortunately I got a call Monday morning with awful news. I have had to deal with this which I am struggling with immensely. Me and my sister were so close to her and it’s really hit my 16 year old daughter who was so close to her also.
I just don’t know how to cope how to carry on as ‘normal’ because she’s not here… she was my rock… my best friend and I just can’t see how I can get through each day and be ok. I never thought I’d be writing this let alone typing on a post but I need help I need support.

Hello @Yojjoy99 ,

I’m part of the Online Community team and I can see that you are new to the community - I’d like to thank you for bravely starting this thread and sharing how you are in shock. I’m so sorry to hear about your mum. Most community members have sadly experienced the death of a loved one and so will understand some of what you are going through.

I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support. In the meantime, you may wish to look at these Sue Ryder resources which might be helpful.

Also, Winston’s Wish provides grief and bereavement support for children and young people. If you think that would be helpful for your children. https://winstonswish.org/

I really hope you find the community helpful and a good source of support and I also hope you feel you can access more support should you need it.

Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone.

Take care,
Alex

Hi. I’m sorry this has just happened to you. I went through a similar thing a few months ago where my mum suddenly passed. I can’t offer any advice that will be of use but I do want you to know you are not the only one going through this and this site is really helpful. :slightly_smiling_face:
