Loss

I have recently lost my partner who i loved dearly :broken_heart: feeling lost atm

I am so sorry for your loss, I lost my fiance in may, he passed away in my arms :broken_heart: I don’t have to tell you it will be ok eventually, you have probably heard that already, but In my experience, I found acceptance helped me, we cannot change what’s happened as much as we wish we could, I don’t know about you, but I have children and grandchildren that need me, so I must carry on without him, I still cry from time to time, the loneliness gets me on a regular basis, hence joining this group, but I’m also mourning myself too, the life I once had, all the things I no longer have or no longer do now he’s gone, it’s a difficult process but it’s one we have to push through, talking to people who know how you are feeling really does help

Dear @Beamer2001

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your partner. There are no words to describe the pain of losing your partner and the emptiness that goes with it.

Have you seen the blog by Sue Ryder Losing a Partner , it may be of help to you along with the following resources. The Grief Coach may especially be of help to you.

  • The self-help platform which has information, resources and advice to help you through your grief Grief Guide
  • Grief Coach text service, which sends you personalised text support via SMS. This service is also useful for family and friends
  • Information on the Stages of Grief
  • Bereavement Information pages which can walk you through what you are going through

Have you had a look at the Sue Ryder Counselling which is held via video chat ? There is a questionnaire to complete to start with.

There is an organisation called AtALoss which helps bereaved people find support and well-being. It may well be worth you taking a look at the website for support. You can also enter your location on the website to see if there are any support groups in your area.

Grief is a rollercoaster ride of emotions with good days and bad days, all of which is normal and part of the grieving process. Everyone’s grief journey is different.
