After a whirlwind 6 months of cancer… i lost my husband 2 days ago. It all went so fast. We have two young children and im lost without him. I want to stay in bed all day but drag myself out for them. I dont think i can go on

Really sorry to hear your sad news it must be so difficult to carry on for the children when you are in such a dark place. I hope you find the strength to see you through the next few weeks and months hope you will find plenty of support on this site.

Goodness it’s still so soon and must be so very raw. Especially hard with young children too but they will probably be your saviour because I’m sure you won’t give up on them. I’m just over two months ahead of you and I know my grandchildren definitely help to keep me going. That said I know it’s incredibly difficult, and so hard to express to people who haven’t lost a partner. Keeping ‘talking’ here and draw some strength from those like you who are doing their best to find a new way forward. Take care x

I lost my husband to cancer 5 months ago and have 4 older kids - 2 of them are teenagers.
It is so hard to manage your grief as well as theirs so please be kind to yourself, take help wherever it is offered , and just take things a day at a time.
Keep posting here - it can be a place where you can let everything out in a safe and supportive place.
