Lost my mum 4 weeks ago

I lost my mum 4 weeks ago and it just feels so empty without her around . I am struggling with not being able to pick up the phone and speak to her or send her silly updates of my cat . The one thing she would always ask in any conversation was how is Mischief? Please tell me that this gets easier over time

Hello Saz1987

My condolences on the passing away of your beloved mum. It is only 4 weeks ago as you have said and it is very early days in your grief.

Losing your mum is a life changing event. I cannot tell you when or if it gets easier. Grief is unusual. It affects everyone differently. Some people may struggle to cry. Some people may be consumed by crying . There really isn’t a timeline for grieving a beloved mum.

There are lots of different threads on here as well where you can post messages and lots of people will offer you their support on your loss.

Take things as slowly as you can. Look after yourself.
God bless and sending you all my best wishes Stephen :people_hugging: :folded_hands:

Hi Saz1987, I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my Mum 9 weeks ago and I can’t come to terms with it. I miss her so much, she was my best friend and I saw her everyday. My Mum was such a strong independent person who kept so positive throughout her cancer diagnosis…. But she was let down with the NHS… took too long to diagnose and I do believe she would have had longer if they did tests sooner. The pain is huge and thank god I have good friends who care.

The one thing my mum asked me was to look after her cat and that helps me but I just wish I had more time with her…. Life is empty without her
