Lost My Mum

Hi everyone,

I lost my mum 23 weeks ago yesterday. It’s been so difficult and I don’t feel like I have fully grieved. My mum’s death is currently being investigated by the coroner. I raised queries about the lack of follow up care. Weeks before her death she was discharged for the 7th time in a year. She had blood tests, medication and future appointments so they could monitor her. It was going well until April 2026 when, her GP stopped testing her bloods, Lack of appointments to out patients despite us chasing them. Then finally the stopping of medication to help prevent internal bleeding. Despite us querying these leaving messages and raising this with the one checkup appointment she did get where the doctor promised to sort out. They stopped her medication and did not give a reason. We disputed this with the doctor who said she didn’t need it any more but had nothing substantial to confirm on what basis. It was an expensive drug and patients should come off slowly by reducing the amount over weeks until it’s stopped. Not mum they stopped it straight away. Within 15 days mum was dead. I feel like I’ve let her down. I should have fought more. I’m struggling with my own health so it’s been so difficult. Now 23 weeks later the hospitals have provided evidence but not answered my queries. I don’t have the strength to go on fighting my mum is gone and not coming back. I’m on medication duloxetine 90mg and I’m still sobbing like a baby. I cry at the drop of a hat. I’ve been diagnosed with fibromyalgia which the doctor says high stress levels could have contributed to this. I’m in pain every day. I’ve lost my job of £45k a year and found out today my dog is riddled with tumors / growths on his kidneys and liver. It’s never ending and I can’t take any more.
