When will the memories be met with a smile or laughter and not with floods of tears and total heartbreak
Does that ever happen.?
I can never see that happening with me.
My son & family have just left and their car had just turned into the road, when the floodgates opened.
My youngest granddaughter helped me open the birthday cards I had asked people to bring to my wife’s internment of her ashes.
I had to stop almost every card to go into the garden to sob.
My wife’s cousin put a photo in with the card of my lovely wife when she was 16 years 5 months. She was her cousin’s bridesmaid and it was almost to the date I first met her.
I am still crying
Hugs…that must be so hard

Lovely photo of your wife. So she was sweet sixteen when you met her…that photo brought back lovely memories for you.
Week 14, and I’m currently watching a dvd from about 20 years ago. I must hsve transferd it from video. It is a couple of vists to Canada, it is upsetting but also its good ? To be able to hear Sue’s laughter. Then it is painful when she shouts my name. It’s like looking at pictures double edge. She looks so happy at the falls in Canada . If it helps to push away that final night.
If i try watching tomorrow i will probably just cry. We have to try and cherish are good memories, but sometimes its to hard.
She was, but it wasn’t for another year before she relented and let me walk her home after a gig we played in her village hall.
@Johnr
Well she made you chase her in the old fashioned way…good on her…
What lovely thoughts and memories you must have of her…
I think my perseverance won her over.
That night I asked to walk her home, which was only a couple hundred yards away, she told me her boyfriend was walking her home. I said he’s not, so you better tell him. I was gobsmacked when she agree and told him.
So met her at 16 and a half in 1964, and started going out a year later in 1965. Got engaged in 1966 and married 23 September 1967, just over 3 years from the date of the pic.
She was lovely and way too good for me. I wish she was still here.
@Johnr
She looks absolutely beautiful and how wonderful you had all those happy years together…
She was and still is
