I lost my husband of 25 years just before Christmas & miss him soooo much. I thought I was doing ok but I’m not really. Struggling to get up each morning but know I have to as I work from home & have a fur baby to look after. I’ve been getting out & about at weekends but hate coming home cos he’s not there to share what I’ve been up to then feel really guilty for going out & having a nice time & cry myself to sleep. He was poorly for the last 6 years & I was his carer. I get so angry at what he went through, he didn’t deserve any of it, he was one in a million.
Hi TobyOne, I am sorry to hear that you are suffering. My wife died on Christmas Day after two years of cancer treatments. I find exercise to be a good way of controlling the pain, it also helps with sleep. My wife and I were together for 40 years and after such a long time growing together being separated is devastating. This site has been a godsend to me as everyone here is supporting eachother even through their own suffering.
I hope you find some solace here
Wishing you all the best
Tom

Hello Toby1, so sorry for the loss of your husband,…I lost my husband of 35 years in March, he was my everything and I miss him so very much. Nothing feels the same anymore, everything has lost its spark, ..i have no desire to do anything. Not without him, we were always together. My husband was also sick for about 6 years and I was his caregiver. His health just got worse the last months of his life. He suffered a lot, i wish I could have done more for him. I hope this site helps you to let out your sorrows, it helps to talk about your feelings, it has helped me, people here understand cause we’re all going through the same grief, take care and God bless you ![]()
Dear @TobyOne182 ,
I lost my wonderful, beloved wife Fanny in August 2025.
I do miss her so incredibly much, even though she’s still with me somehow.
The pain, the despair and the sadness will fade into the background a bit as time passes, but true happiness is a thing of the past.
Your husband is looking out for you from Heaven and you will be reunited for eternity.
May God bless, comfort and guide you!
Kind regards - Joe
