If there is a reason why God only takes the good people of the world then I too would like to know why. I didn’t want my husband to die and be a flower in God’s garden, I wanted him here with me.

Groundhog day is a pretty good description of this new way of life we find ourselves in now. Today is the same as yesterday,is the same as tomorrow. Obviously nothing can put things right ever again.
Accepting it and managing this horrendous grief is the best we can expect. I guess time will eventually deaden the pain a bit but time won’t deaden the fact we miss our loved one so very very much and still love them with all our hearts.
I like to think there is an afterlife and will be with our loved ones again. I don’t knock religion,if it helps you in any way that’s great. Personally I don’t have a God but if I did I’d be ranting at him/her for taking my wife,he/she would definitely not be in my good books right now.

Alan, It does get better. I’m the last survivor of two families, When my wife died 4 years ago it’s only me and my two adult kids, there are some cousins out there, but I haven’t talked to them in decades. You’ll never forget your wife, but the painful part keeps getting shorter and shorter. Keep a few routines, such as keep her side of t, he bed made, spray her perfume in the bedroom once and a while, when you leave the house turn her favorite TV channel on. Just small things to keep a connection, And don’t feel bad to talk about missing her. She deserves to be missed.

I know how hard this is i lot my husband 5yrs ago and it still feels like yesterday I know you say keeping busy helps I am on my own to much and struggle to fìll my days completely and that’s when it hits you especially night time when watching TV but its such a lonely road we have to travel now and it’s not easy I hope you take care of yourself and know there is a lot of nice people on here to help is all sending you a big hug
