Mourming clothes

I sometimes think it would be a good idea for us to wear a tiny badge ( similar to a black armband) then other people would kbow we were in mourning and treat us accordingly, i guess nowadays we would be picked out by sharks trying to take advantage of us at a vulnerable tine but i do think the victorians wearing black for a time was a suitable thing to do . Am i weird in thinking like this ?

No, you’re not being weird at all. I did actually look at buying a black armband in the early days! But sportspeople seems to have claimed the right to wear them now.
It is scary trying to get on with day to day life when nobody knows what you have just been through and you’re so very fragile and ready to cry after a simple comment from a stranger.
I don’t leave my town much, in a way I was fortunate in that everyone knew Steve, there was a big write up in the local paper when he passed, plus loads on Facebook apparently, so most people made the connection with me.
The Victorians also had a timescale for mourning, which I also thought could be a useful guide.

Hi from jeff
I think the black arm band is of another age . I have some of my darling girls ashes in a locket set in resin . Its the the last thing i take off at night and the first thing I put on in the morning . So dont be afraid to do what works for you . All the best
