My mum will be laid to rest tomorrow and I’m feeling very anxious to go as I am estranged from my family. Has anybody else been in this situation before? Thanks
Hi @Rach81,
Thank you so much for sharing this with the community I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I just wanted to let you know that you have been heard and you are not alone.
Take good care,
Alex
Hello,
It will be a tough day. Focus on why you are there - its about your mum and not the wider family. Go, cry, pay your respects. Test the vibe and decide if you stay longer at the wake or just pop in.
Other peoples opinions don’t matter tomorrow. But remember, grief is often a great uniter of people as well. You might be suprised.
I really hope it goes smoothly.
For my mum’s in Nov 23 I took some ‘Calms’ pills (you buy them over the counter at boots). It’s made with valarian root and promotes feeling calmer. They helped - probably a placebo effect but it gave me a little bit of confidence.
Have dad’s funeral in two weeks.
