I’m new to this forum and feeling lost. My mum passed away 5 days ago and I cant imagine life ever being the same again.
I lost my mam in June and still feel this way. I don’t believe life will ever be the same again because I lost a part of myself when she passed. She was my history, the person who had been with me my whole life. I cared for her for many, many years, and for the last few years her health deteriorated further. My whole life revolved around her. Her medical appointments, her medications, her day to day needs etc. When she passed away I sat feeling lost as to what to do because my routine was gone, my purpose was gone, so I started cleaning and sorting and doing everything I could to keep busy and to try to stop thinking and feeling. I’m now 3 months down the line and am seeing my GP this week to get help. I’m not sleeping properly, I’m not driving and I live in a constant brain fog. I don’t like leaving the house and the last time I did, my legs were shaking and I couldn’t wait to get back home.
My advice is to take any help offered. Be kind to yourself because losing your mam is huge. Do you have support around you, or siblings to share stories etc?
Yes I have a brother and a daughter
